The Best of Dreamforce for New Admins

Dreamforce, Salesforce’s biggest event of the year, took place this September and we attended to bring you the latest news for new Salesforce Administrators. Read on for updates on the job potential in the Salesforce ecosystem, new ways to continue learning Salesforce skills, where to find the most relevant sessions for you from the event, and how Camp4 can help you become a Salesforce Administrator.

The Salesforce Ecosystem and The Role of Admins

What is the Salesforce Ecosystem?

The Salesforce ecosystem is an interconnected network of Trailblazers who use Salesforce to build successful careers, companies and communities around the world. With Salesforce being the market leader in CRM, Sales and Customer service this ecosystem is continuing to grow, providing greater opportunities for anyone to grow their careers with Salesforce.

According to IDC’s just released Salesforce Economy Study, the Salesforce ecosystem is set to create $1.6 trillion in new business revenues and add 9.3 million new jobs by 2026. Here at Camp4 we find this incredibly exciting, but definitely not surprising. We started Camp4 because we believe in the growth opportunity in the Salesforce ecosystem and want to help people from all walks of life get the technical and tough skills needed to enter the ecosystem and land one of these jobs.

There are many ways you can break into the ecosystem and one focus of ours at Camp4 is well rounded Salesforce Administrator training.

What is a Salesforce Administrator?

Salesforce Administrators, commonly called Salesforce Admins, use Salesforce to solve real world business problems. They support users, manage data, maintain security standards and deliver actionable analytics. These Admins need both technical Salesforce skills and tough skills—what others may call soft skills—to find success in the ecosystem. We call these non-technical skills tough skills because they’re often least commonly taught and the toughest to master.

These are skills Salesforce Admins who were surveyed in 2021 said were key to their success as admins:

  • Product Management

  • User Management

  • Data Management

  • Project Management

  • Business Analysis

  • Process Automation

  • Designer’s Mindset

  • Data Analysis

  • Problem Solving

  • Communication

  • Learner’s Mindset

  • Attention to Detail

Landing one of these new Salesforce Administrator jobs

As a brand new Salesforce Admin, how do you bridge the trust gap with potential employers so you can land a job in the Salesforce ecosystem? The trust gap is the distance between the employers believing that you can do the job and your ability to prove that you can do it. Commonly employers fill this trust gap by finding proof of your tech and tough skills in terms of previous work experience and/or training listed on your resume and LinkedIn profile.

With Camp4 you’ll receive both the technical and tough skills needed to succeed in this ever growing Salesforce ecosystem and have this experience to prove to employers you can do the job. Reach out to us to learn more about our training programs that will bridge this gap and prove that you have all these tech and tough skills to employers.

New Ways to Skill Up

At Dreamforce 21, ways to use Slack and integrate it with Salesforce was big news. They’ve even added 11 new Trailhead badges for you to learn all the ways you can utilize Slack with the Salesforce platform. If you’re unfamiliar with Slack the Get Started with Slack Trail is a good place to learn about it.

They also announced Trailhead for Slack. Trailhead for Slack helps you learn new Salesforce skills right in Slack and enables you to skill up from anywhere with the desktop and mobile friendly learning options. You can search for, and share with individuals and teams, relevant Trailhead and My Trailhead content based on Product, Skill or Role right in Slack. There's also the options for accelerating your learning with Einstein powered recommendations and reminders and track your learning progress all without ever leaving your slack workspace. Trailhead for Slack is a great way to learn in Slack as you get started in your new role and stay in the flow of work with your team.

While trailhead is a great way to learn Salesforce, it's self-guided and often leaves learners with questions they have a hard time finding answers to. With our training programs you’ll be guided by an instructor with years of experience in the ecosystem who can answer all of your technical or tough skills questions.
